When Suntex took the leap into a brand new warehouse doubling the floor size, they asked Macrack to help out and assist with the move and supply them with modern storage systems that best suits their business now and future proof them into the future.
A-Frame For Trims, Extrusions & Rails
Through the production process there is a vast array of trims, extrusions and rails that Suntex need to access in order to fabricate to their clients exacting order.
This range expands greatly when you also take into consideration the colour range which for each colour duplicates the amount of extrusion that need to be stored.
Macrack provided Suntex a truly valuable solution of A-Frame racking, which stores extrusions on end allowing staff to pick single extrusions at any single time, giving access to the whole range uninterruptedly.
Cantilever For Aluminium Tracks & Rails
Storing lengths of Aluminium tracks and rails, a cantilever system is perfect for holding bulk crates of these items. The 6m long crates are stored 2 deep and 2 high to maximise the space but also reduce the total amount of arms levels which saves on over all costs.
These crates are loaded into the cantilever rack via a conventional gas forklift, going end to end 4 packs wide. With a standard 6m high frames we were able to give Suntex 5 arm levels covering the total storage requirements that they needed for their bulk aluminium lengths.
Uniquely this cantilever is in 1 run but changes from Double sided to single sided to accommodate a best solution layout where they will tuck machinery into the back of the single sided bays and utilise picking from the other double sided area. This greatly reduces staff movement throughout the warehouse and improves production efficiency, just with the use of cleaver racking layout.
Pallet Racking For Fabrics
Bulk pallets and stillages are used to store the huge array of fabrics that Suntex offer their clients. These are stored efficiently in their pallet racking, where each variation has its own set location, making it easy to spot check stock levels.
Some of the widths needed to be oversize to accommodate larger rolls of fabrics, and Macrack has the solution with a range of longer than standard beam sizes. Macrack produces beams sizes from 1.2m up to 7m long. This covers every industry and allows flexibility and a tailored solution.
Long Span Shelving For Screws, Fittings & Fixtures
Having small parts picking means that Suntex needed a solution to store all the screws, fittings, fixtures in a concentrated area. Macrack provided a long span shelving solution to best maximise the area and increase staff efficiency in the warehouse by having everything in one condensed area.
